Alcohol should not be consumed during an ambulatory electrocardiogram (ECG). An ECG records the electrical activity of a patient’s heart over a period of 24 hours or more during daily life, and is susceptible to external factors that may affect the results, including strenuous exercise, alcohol consumption, and bathing, among others. The precautions to be taken when performing dynamic electrocardiography: 1. Keep the skin of the contact area clean and free of infection. 2. Prevent rainwater and other liquid solutions from entering the instrument and affecting the test results. 3. Maintain normal living habits, avoid bathing and strenuous exercise. 4. Avoid pulling the electrodes or electrode wires. 5. Maintain a normal diet and avoid drinking alcohol. Since drinking alcohol will directly affect the heart rate changes, which in turn will affect the judgment of the results, so in the dynamic electrocardiogram examination, must strictly follow the doctor’s instructions to carry out a standardized diet, avoid drinking alcohol.
