Liraglutide is a kind of Glucagon-like peptide analogue (GLP-1), which is mainly used clinically for type 2 diabetic patients whose diet and exercise control are ineffective, and has the effect of weight loss when the dose used is too high, reaching 3mg/day. The main principle of liraglutide in treating obesity is: i. It inhibits the feeding center and affects the patient’s appetite; ii. It can delay gastric emptying and slow down the digestion and absorption of food so as to achieve the purpose of diet control, so liraglutide is easy to cause gastrointestinal side effects such as bloating, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting after injection. Liraglutide is more suitable for obese, type 2 diabetic patients with poor glycemic control, and can also be used for weight loss treatment for obese patients. However, to achieve weight loss, the most fundamental thing is to reduce the weight by reducing the diet and calorie intake and increasing the amount of exercise so that the total calorie intake in a day is lower than the total calorie consumption, and only then the weight will gradually decrease.
