Is it good to have a smooth surface of colon polyps

A smooth surface of a colon polyp suggests a high likelihood of benignity and is therefore relatively good. A smooth surface of a colon polyp means that the colon polyp may be benign without a specific lesion. If the polyp has a smooth surface, but the surface is congested, it means that the polyp may be accompanied by inflammation. The polyp may also bleed when it becomes eroded. If the surface of the polyp is cauliflower-like, it means that cancer may have occurred and should be taken very seriously. Regardless of the type of polyp, it is best to have the polyp removed under a doctor’s supervision and have the tissue biopsied for pathology. Inflammatory polyps are less likely to become cancerous in general; adenomatous polyps have a higher risk of becoming cancerous, so polyps must be treated aggressively. Therefore, if colon polyps are found under colonoscopic conditions, several polyps should be routinely removed or localized polyps should be sampled for pathological examination to detect the possibility of malignant tumors.
