How to remedy a sunburn

The first thing you need to do after getting sunburned is to check the extent of the sunburn and treat it with topical and oral medications. Acute sunburn can result after overexposure to UV rays. In addition to reddish color, the skin becomes painful, peeling and itchy. Re-exposure to sunlight should be avoided and localized cold compresses can be applied to reduce pain. Topical drugs can be used glycerite lotion; glucocorticoid drugs such as mometasone furoate gel, hydrocortisone butyrate ointment, etc., and in severe cases, 3% boric acid solution can be used as a wet compress. Those with systemic symptoms can take oral antihistamines such as loratadine, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen, etc., and in severe cases, glucocorticoids can be applied systematically. If the patient is sunburned, should be timely to the hospital, follow the doctor’s instructions for medication, so as not to delay the condition.
