How to rehab a stiff toe

Common rehabilitation training that can improve the stiffness of the patient’s toes mainly includes flexion and extension exercise training, spreading exercise training and so on.
1. Toe flexion and extension exercise training: patients lie on their backs, both lower limbs are placed in a natural upright position, and the patient’s toes are actively close to the soles of the feet within the possible range of joint activities, i.e. flexion, and restoration of the original position is extension, which is carried out repeatedly.
2. Toe spreading exercise training: patients lie on their backs, both lower limbs are placed in a natural upright position, and the toes of the affected foot are actively opened and closed in the same plane within the possible range of joint activities.
Some patients can carry out passive training with the help of the rehabilitation therapist, and after functional recovery to a certain extent, they can gradually transition to active or assisted training.
Toe stiffness may be related to shoe discomfort, tendon sheath cysts, rheumatoid arthritis and other factors. If no relief can be obtained through self-training, or if the symptoms worsen, it is recommended that the patient consult a doctor in a timely manner, and under the guidance of a professional doctor, in order to avoid the adverse consequences.
