There are two main types of treatment for gallbladder stones without surgery: one for the gallbladder stones themselves; the other for calculous cholecystitis. The former is mainly lithotripsy, but it should be satisfied that the gallbladder stones are cholesterol stones, that X-rays can penetrate, and that the gallbladder is contracting and excreting normally. Oral ursodeoxycholic acid can be considered for this treatment. The duration of treatment should be 6 to 24 months, and the full course of treatment should be taken regularly in adequate dosage, and an ultrasound of the gallbladder should be performed around 6 months to assess the effectiveness of lithotripsy. Not all gallbladder stones can be treated with lithotripsy. The latter mainly includes oral medication and intravenous medication. Oral medication is mainly applied to Chinese patent medicines such as anti-inflammatory and bile tablets, Shu Bile tablets and Golden Bile tablets, which are mainly for gallbladder inflammation caused by damp heat in the liver and gallbladder. However, if the gallbladder inflammation is more severe, the pain is more obvious, accompanied by fever symptoms, then intravenous infusion treatment is also needed, and the treatment commonly used are antibacterial drugs and antispasmodic drugs. However, for gallbladder stones that meet the indications for surgery, surgery should be performed in a timely manner. Medication does not cure gallbladder stones, but only relieves the symptoms. Even, cholecystitis can cause gallbladder cancer to occur.
