Dwarfism seriously affects a person’s quality of life. What is dwarfism? According to the standards of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology and the Society for Growth Hormone Research, short stature is defined as being more than 2 standard deviations (SD) below the mean for the same age and sex. In China, the diagnosis of GHD is based on a height below the 3rd percentile (or below the mean minus two standard deviations) of the growth curve of normal healthy children of the same age and sex.
Treatment for short stature due to growth hormone deficiency requires growth hormone injections. Recombinant human growth hormone replacement therapy has been widely used with good efficacy and safety. However, previous treatment, which required daily injections, was very cumbersome. The new once-weekly long-acting recombinant human growth hormone has been validated as safe and effective in phase I, II and III clinical trials and is now available on the market. Post-marketing clinical observation is now underway, and there is an opportunity to provide six months of free treatment and long-term follow-up for some patients. Interested parties can directly visit our clinic for consultation.
Suitable children with dwarfism must meet the following conditions: 1. Diagnosis of growth hormone deficiency based on medical history, clinical symptoms and signs, GH stimulation test and imaging examinations before starting treatment; 2. 4. The subject is willing and able to cooperate with the completion of the scheduled visits, treatment plan and laboratory tests and other trial procedures by signing a written informed consent.
