Obsessive Skepticism is supposed to refer to one of the symptoms of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a disease mainly characterized by obsessive thinking or obsessive behavior, and obsessive doubt is one of the obsessive thinking. The treatment includes psychotherapy such as Morita therapy, aversion therapy, etc., and medication such as fluvoxamine and paroxetine.
Compulsive Doubt: Uncertainty about what one has accomplished, repeated verification, or else anxiety, often accompanied by compulsive behaviors such as checking, repeating, cleaning, and seeking reassurance.
1. Psychotherapeutic treatment:
(1) Morita therapy is the classic treatment for obsessive-compulsive disorder, and the principle of treatment is to go with the flow and do what is necessary.
(2) Aversion therapy is a method of suppressing target behavioral symptoms and eliminating undesirable behaviors through punishment.
(3) There are also cognitive behavioral therapy, family therapy, and supportive psychotherapy.
2. Pharmacotherapy:
(1) Fluvoxamine, paroxetine, fluoxetine, clomipramine, sertraline, etc. are commonly used, and adverse reactions such as dry mouth, nausea, and vomiting may occur.
(2) Combination of antipsychotics can be used to increase the efficacy if necessary, such as quetiapine, aripiprazole, etc. Adverse reactions such as fidgeting, dizziness and nausea may occur.
(3) Acute treatment for 10 to 12 weeks and maintenance for 1 to 2 years should be individualized and started with small doses.
The treatment of OCD should be carried out under the guidance of a doctor, not self-medication.
