Condyloma acuminatum, also known as genital warts or venereal warts, is a sexually transmitted disease caused by the human papilloma virus. The incubation period is about 3 months, short 3 weeks, long 8 months or more, the average is 3 months, mainly sexually active people, to 20-30 years old for the onset of high front. The disease is caused by human papilloma virus. It is a DNA virus. The virus particles are 50-55 nm in diameter and infect mainly epithelial cells, with humans being the only host. There are at least 28 known HPV types. Clinically, HPV types are associated with causing some different types of warts. Among them, HPV 6, 11, 16 and 18 can be sexually transmitted and cause condyloma acuminatum.
