Condyloma acuminatum, also known as genital warts and venereal warts. It is a skin disease caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV). In the last 15 years, the number of warts in the United States has increased fivefold. In our country, warts are also one of the most predominant STDs, being the 2nd or 3rd most prevalent STD in many areas. By 2001, the actual number of patients in China had exceeded 10 million, and the number of cases is still on the rise. HPV is the abbreviation for Human papillomavirus, a DNA virus with obvious host and tissue specificity, the human skin and mucous membrane of the complex squamous epithelium is the only host of HPV. Viral particles are 50-55 nm in diameter. this is very small and cannot be seen with a general light microscope, but only with the aid of an electron microscope. The current genotyping of subtypes has reached more than 200, with more than 30 subtypes associated with the development of condyloma acuminata. Clinically, HPV can be divided into low-risk and high-risk subtypes depending on the degree of pathogenicity or cancer risk of the HPV subtypes.
