What are CHO cells?

CHO cells are epithelial-like cells derived from the ovarian cells of Chinese hamsters. Some drugs contain this ingredient, such as recombinant human erythropoietin injection. 1.CHO cells are epithelioid cells, which generally grow in an adherent manner or in suspension. The main use of CHO cells is to express proteins of recombinant DNA. 2.Recombinant human erythropoietin injection is a glycoprotein produced from hamster ovary cells by obtaining the DNA of the erythropoietin genome from human hepatocytes, followed by recombinant genes. The drug is typically used in patients with renal anemia. Adverse reactions include shock, allergy, and liver abnormalities. It is contraindicated in pregnant women, in patients with uncontrolled severe hypertension and in those who are allergic to the product. Patients are advised to standardize treatment under the guidance of a doctor and not to use the drug blindly on their own.
