Most leiomyosarcomas are directly related to muscle fibrous tissue hyperplasia caused by trauma, hormonal medications, and genetic factors. Most leiomyosarcomas are located under the skin, mostly in the abdomen, but also during pregnancy and the second trimester, as well as in the scapula, hip, and buttocks. Most leiomyosarcomas are found in tissues rich in fibrous tissue, such as muscle, myofascial layer and tendon membrane, and are mostly located subcutaneously, with a smooth surface and no adhesions to surrounding tissues. Most of them can be diagnosed by ultrasound, and if they are large, surgery can be considered to remove them.
