Normal blood glucose value for pregnant women

  Blood glucose is one of the items that must be checked during pregnancy. Abnormal blood glucose during pregnancy can affect the normal development of the embryo.  Blood glucose monitoring during pregnancy is divided into three times: i. Fasting blood glucose The blood glucose of pregnant women is measured under the premise that they do not eat or take water, as fasting blood glucose. The normal value of fasting blood sugar for normal pregnant women is 3.1-5.6 mmol/L. When fasting blood sugar is lower than 3.1 mmol/L, it can be diagnosed as hypoglycemic state and needs to be supplemented with sugar in time. When fasting blood glucose is higher than 5.6mmol/L, patients are advised to consult the endocrinology department to give diet control and drug control if necessary.  When the blood glucose value is higher than 10mmol/L, it is considered abnormal.  Third, 2 hours after meal blood glucose When the patient eats 2 hours after, measure the blood glucose value of pregnant women, the normal value is 8.5mmol/L. It should be noted that the blood glucose value of pregnant women during pregnancy is different from the blood glucose value of normal people. During pregnancy, the metabolism of pregnant women changes and they need to bear the energy required by themselves and the fetus. Therefore, the normal blood glucose value of pregnant women is lower than the normal blood glucose value of the normal population at the same stage.  In summary, the normal blood sugar range for pregnant women is 3.1-5.6 mmol/L for fasting, less than 10 mmol/L for 1 hour after meal and less than 8.5 mmol/L for 2 hours after meal.
