Causes of elevated blood glucose in normal people

Some people think that elevated blood glucose is diabetes, but in fact it is not accurate. There are many reasons for elevated blood glucose in a normal person, mainly physiological reasons and pathological reasons. The so-called physiological causes are the elevation of blood glucose caused by some factors in our body, such as excessive eating, emotional changes, cold and heat stimulation, trauma, infection and surgery and other stressful conditions will cause the elevation of blood glucose, but this elevation of blood glucose is generally transient, and when the stress is removed, the blood glucose will naturally return to normal. There are many reasons for pathological high blood sugar, including 1. high blood sugar caused by drugs, such as diuretics furosemide, hydrochlorothiazide, glucocorticoids prednisone, methylprednisolone, etc., psychotropic drugs such as olanzapine, but high blood sugar caused by drugs is temporary as well as physiological reasons, and blood sugar can return to normal after stopping drugs. 2. high blood sugar can occur in certain diseases such as obesity, hypertension and lipid abnormalities. High blood glucose can also occur in some special diseases such as cortisolism, primary aldosteronism, hyperthyroidism and liver function damage, but blood glucose is usually not too high and will naturally drop when the disease is controlled. 3. Abnormalities in the function of the pancreas lead to elevated blood glucose. Therefore, when we normal people find high blood glucose, do not panic, but to further determine the specific cause, lifting the cause of elevated blood glucose is the main measure to solve the elevated blood glucose.
