How to check for tuberculosis in children

Laboratory tests, chest X-ray or CT, ultrasound and OT test, sputum culture test, etc. are needed to check for tuberculosis in children. 1. Chest X-ray or CT. Chest X-ray and CT can check whether there is any tuberculosis lesion, but it is only an auxiliary examination. X-ray can observe the lungs from a plane, while chest CT is a tomography, which is more accurate. 2. Ultrasound. If the child has abdominal pain, diarrhea symptoms may be suffering from intestinal tuberculosis, you need to do ultrasound to diagnose. 3. OT test: OT test is also known as PPD test, the specific operation is to do skin test on the local skin, inject the medicine into the subcutaneous, and observe whether there is any allergic reaction at the injection site in about 48 hours. 4. Sputum culture test: sputum culture test can be done, including antacid staining and culture of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, finding Mycobacterium tuberculosis in sputum can confirm the diagnosis of tuberculosis. 5. Fiberoptic bronchoscopy: Bronchoscopy enters the respiratory tract from one side of the nose or mouth, and can reach the lung lobes and lung segments, etc. It can observe the diseased tissues and collect tissue biopsies for bacteriological examination. If a child is suspected of having tuberculosis, parents should not be too nervous, and actively cooperate with the examination. If the diagnosis is confirmed, it will usually be treated with a combination of drugs, and most of the prognosis is good.
