What are the chemotherapy drugs for multiple myeloma

Chemotherapy is an important treatment for multiple myeloma. Chemotherapy for multiple myeloma mainly includes chemotherapeutic drugs such as doxorubicin, liposomal adriamycin, cisplatin and cyclophosphamide in 1 cycle of 28 days or 21 days. Of course, the following drugs are needed in addition to chemotherapy drugs: 1) immunomodulators, such as thalidomide, lenalidomide, etc. 2) proteasome inhibitors, such as bortezomib, carfilzomib, etc. 3) hormones, such as dexamethasone, prednisone, etc. The combination of any 3 of the above 4 types of drugs into 1 chemotherapy regimen is a very effective treatment for multiple myeloma. After 4-6 cycles of induction chemotherapy, if multiple myeloma can be in complete remission, next for younger patients, less than 65 years old, autologous stem cell transplantation can be done to further improve the efficacy, reduce recurrence and prolong the progression-free survival time of patients.
