Lung cancer can be prevented and controlled. Studies have shown that the incidence and mortality rate of lung cancer in Western countries have decreased significantly in recent years through tobacco control and environmental protection. The prevention of lung cancer can be divided into three levels of prevention.
I. Primary prevention.
(i) Prohibition and control of smoking
A large number of studies have proved that smoking is the main factor causing lung cancer. Studies have proved that quitting smoking can significantly reduce the incidence of lung cancer, and the sooner you quit smoking, the more obvious the reduction of lung cancer incidence. Therefore, quitting smoking is the most effective way to prevent lung cancer. Smoking should be banned immediately for those who smoke.
The country should enact strong laws to publicize that tobacco contains carcinogenic substances that cause lung cancer in order to reduce the harm of passive smoking.
(ii) Protect the environment
Atmospheric pollution is an important lung cancer-causing factor, among which there are mainly 3,4-dumb pyrene, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxide and carbon monoxide. The exposure dose of atmospheric pollution, deposition index, smog index, benzopyrene, etc. is positively correlated with the incidence of lung cancer. Protecting the environment and reducing atmospheric pollution are important measures to reduce the incidence of lung cancer.
The measures are as follows.
1.Limit the development of urban motor vehicles, improve the combustion equipment of motor vehicles, and reduce the emission of toxic gases.
2.Research on harmless energy sources and gradually replace or eliminate Those harmful energy sources.
3, improve indoor ventilation equipment to reduce harmful substances in the small environment.
(C) Prevention of occupational factors
Many occupational exposure to carcinogens such as dust and asbestos can increase the incidence of lung cancer, and reducing the exposure to occupational carcinogens can reduce the corresponding incidence of lung cancer.
1.Workers in dust-polluted environment should wear masks or other protective masks to reduce the inhalation of harmful substances.
2.Improve the ventilation of the workplace to reduce the concentration of harmful substances in the air.
3.Reform the production process to reduce the production of harmful substances.
(D) Scientific diet
Diet should be rich in nutrition, vitamin A and D. More fresh vegetables and fruits should be eaten, which have certain preventive effect on lung cancer.
II. Secondary prevention:
It refers to the screening and early diagnosis of lung cancer to achieve early diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer. Lung examination should be done regularly for long-term smokers, especially for high-risk smokers over 45 years old, and patients suffering from chronic bronchitis, emphysema and old tuberculosis, etc. Low-dose chest CT scan is recommended to help detect early lung cancer lesions. Sputum exfoliation cytology examination is also feasible.
Tertiary prevention:
For rehabilitation prevention. After lung cancer patients have achieved complete remission or partial remission after surgical resection, radiation therapy or Chinese and Western medicine anti-cancer drug treatment, attention should be paid in promoting recovery.
Patients with lung cancer should pay attention to the promotion of recovery after they have achieved complete remission or partial remission after surgical resection, radiotherapy or Chinese and Western medicine anti-cancer drugs. Mainly, they should do the following
1. completely prohibit smoking.
2.Practice qigong exercise, especially qigong to enhance respiratory function, so as to improve lung function.
3, often pay attention to the fresh air in the environment, more to the natural environment to exercise or activities.
4.Eat less stimulating food, eat more food rich in vitamin A and D, etc. 5.Keep a good mood.
If you are in partial remission, you should make the necessary Chinese and Western medicine comprehensive treatment under the close observation of the doctor in order to strive for long-term remission.
