For those with watery drinks overriding the heart, symptoms include chest tightness and plumpness (stomach distension and discomfort), palpitation and dizziness, thirst, cold limbs, nausea and desire to vomit, and salivation (drooling), the formula is Ling Gui Zhu Gan Tang with additional subtractions. For patients with stasis obstructing the heart veins, symptoms include chest tightness, palpitation and restlessness, heart pain, pain like pins and needles, and bruising of lips and nails, the formula is Tao Ren Safflower Decoction. For those with phlegm fire disturbing the heart, palpitations occurring sometimes and stopping sometimes, easy to startle, wanting to vomit, insomnia and dreaming, chest tightness and irritability, short and red urine (small amount of urine, dark yellow color), constipation, the formula is Huanglian Wengdian Tang plus subtractions. Atrial fibrillation must be treated under the diagnosis of traditional Chinese medicine, do not use medicine without authorization, traditional Chinese medicine can only alleviate some of the symptoms of atrial fibrillation, can not cure atrial fibrillation.
