Cataract laser is not painful. Cataract laser is performed after adequate pupil dilatation with 4-5 drops of local surface anesthetic, such as promethazine, in the eye, the patient has no symptoms and the operation is completed within a few minutes. After laser surgery, hormonal eye drops, such as compound tobramycin eye drops, are applied and the patient can be followed up the next day. Cataract beating laser is strictly for posterior cataracts, which require laser treatment. A few years or more after cataract surgery, the posterior capsule of the lens will become cloudy and the operated eye will have blurred vision like a plastic paper covering. This is the formation of posterior cataract, which requires laser treatment, and a circular hole of about 2mm in diameter will be punched in the center of the posterior capsule of the lens by laser, and the patient can regain vision.
