Are older women prone to contact bleeding

Normally, contact bleeding does not occur in older women. If contact bleeding occurs in elderly women, it is mostly related to gynecological diseases such as senile vaginitis, cervical columnar epithelial ectasia and cervical cancer.
1. Age-related vaginitis: After menopause, ovarian function declines, estrogen secretion decreases, and vaginal resistance decreases, which easily leads to bacterial reproduction and inflammation. The vaginal wall of senile vaginitis is thin, so it is easy to have painful intercourse and contact bleeding during sexual intercourse, accompanied by increased secretion and vulvar itching and other symptoms.
2. Cervical columnar epithelial ectasia: the normal squamous epithelium of the cervix is replaced by columnar epithelium, which makes the cervix show granular and ulcer-like changes, and if the degree is more serious, symptoms such as leucorrhea increase and contact bleeding may occur.
3. Cervical cancer: women with cervical cancer have abnormal proliferation of cervical squamous epithelium, which makes the cervix more fragile and bleeds on contact, and may be accompanied by symptoms such as increase of vaginal secretion, bad smell, irregular vaginal bleeding and pain.
Therefore, when older women experience contact bleeding, it is considered to be related to the disease, and it is recommended to consult a doctor in a timely manner, complete the relevant examinations, and under the guidance of a professional doctor to clarify the cause of the disease and then actively targeted treatment.
