Do you get proteinuria in thin basement membrane nephropathy?

Thin basement membrane nephropathy may present with proteinuria. Thin basement membrane nephropathy (TBMN) is a hereditary nephropathy with persistent microscopic hematuria as the main manifestation, also known as benign familial hematuria (BFH) or benign recurrent hematuria (BRH). Clinically, in addition to hematuria, it can also manifest proteinuria, hypertension, etc. 45%~60% of adult patients combined with mild proteinuria, but a few patients can manifest massive proteinuria or even nephrotic syndrome. Most of the patients with thin basement membrane nephropathy have benign glomerular disease process and have good prognosis.
