How many days do I need to stay in the hospital after minimally invasive gastric polyp surgery?

Minimally invasive gastric polyp surgery usually requires 3-5 days of hospitalization, which is mainly related to the patient’s post-operative recovery and there are some individual differences. If patients recover better after surgery, they can generally be discharged after 3-5 days of hospitalization. If some patients have uncomfortable symptoms after gastric polyp surgery, such as nausea, vomiting, obvious black stools, blood in the stool, etc., they should promptly review the gastroscopy, and then the time required for hospitalization will be extended accordingly. After minimally invasive surgery for gastric polyps, it is necessary to actively control inflammation with antibiotics while paying attention to stomach care. If the patient’s body resistance is strong enough and there are no other diseases, the inflammation can generally be eliminated 7 days after the surgery. In addition, during the postoperative recovery period, patients are recommended to eat mainly liquid and semi-liquid food, such as thin rice, rice soup, clear soup, noodles, etc. Avoid hard, spicy and irritating food to avoid aggravating the gastrointestinal burden and prolonging the recovery time.
