If the eye hurts after waking up, there are two possible conditions: the first condition is that the eyelid pain is more pronounced, usually with redness, swelling, tenderness and blinking pain on the surface of the eyelid, usually due to bacterial infection caused by inflammation of the lid gland, i.e., wheals and pinhole, which requires the use of levofloxacin drops or tobramycin ointment for anti-inflammatory treatment. In the second case, the surface of the eye is painful, especially if it is accompanied by significant congestion of the conjunctiva, which may be caused by dry eye or damage to the corneal epithelium. It is also advisable to visit a hospital to rule out foreign bodies or deep damage to the cornea to avoid more serious lesions due to infected ulcers of the cornea.
