Do socks for varicose veins work?

Medical compression stockings are indeed a method recommended by international guidelines, that is, medical compression stockings are different from ordinary stockings and thigh high stockings, it is called gradient compression. It is called gradient compression. The pressure is high at the ankle, gradually decreasing to the knee and then to the thigh. When the calf muscles are moving and walking, there is a muscle contraction, which assists the elasticity of the stocking to push back the venous blood and promote the return of blood flow. Therefore, we say that elastic stockings are necessary for patients with chronic venous insufficiency, such as varicose veins and the sequelae of venous thrombosis. What is the difference between what kind of how much pressure to wear, and to which part of the body, long or short? A reticular varicose vein and a capillary dilatation can be worn with a pressure of 20 mHg or less. If the varicose veins have bulged out of the skin surface and there are obvious varicose veins to the naked eye, it is appropriate to wear an elastic stocking with a pressure of 20 mm to 30 mm Hg. In case of chronic edema or thrombotic sequelae, generally speaking, 30 mm compression stockings should be worn. This is the difference in pressure. Then there is the difference in length. How to choose. If it is simply varicose veins of the lower leg, we recommend to wear them to buy above the knee joint, or to buy longer ones. If the varicose veins in the thighs are also there, then I’m afraid we should buy the ones to the upper thighs, or the ones with pants.
