Is a positive antibody for Mycoplasma pneumonia serious?

Positive antibodies to Mycoplasma pneumoniae only indicate the possibility of previous or ongoing infection with Mycoplasma pneumoniae. If the IgM antibody concentration is ≥1:64, or if there is a 4-fold increase in antibody concentration during recovery from the disease, the diagnosis of Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection is confirmed.
