Is cervical cancer prone to recurrence

Early stage cervical cancer is less likely to recur after active treatment, while middle and late stage cervical cancer is more likely to recur if metastasis occurs.
Cervical cancer is the most common gynecological malignant tumor. Usually, patients’ symptoms are not obvious in the early stage, but with the progression of the disease, they may have symptoms such as increase in vaginal secretion, vaginal bleeding and so on. Early-stage cervical cancer can be removed by surgery, which has a high cure rate and is not easy to recur, and the recurrence rate is usually around 5%-10%.
If the cervical cancer is in middle or late stage, the condition is more serious, which cannot be treated by surgery but only by chemotherapy, or the cancer cells have already metastasized to lymph nodes or distant places, the chance of recurrence will be very high, which can reach about 80%.
Therefore, cervical cancer needs timely treatment, and the earlier the treatment, the better the result, which can reduce the recurrence rate. After cervical cancer treatment, regular physical examination is needed, and it is recommended to have a review every 3-6 months, and further treatment is needed if the cancer recurs, and during the period of treatment, dietary nutrition needs to be strengthened, for example, eating more high-protein food, vegetables and fruits, and it is recommended to cooperate with exercise to strengthen the physique.
