What are the dietary contraindications for nodular goiter?

Nodular goiter is mainly caused by diffuse goiter due to iodine deficiency, which later causes limited epithelial hyperplasia of the alveoli and multiple-like nodules. It is recommended to eat more iodine-containing foods, such as kelp, nori and various seafood, and to prohibit tobacco, alcohol and stimulating foods, including spicy and stimulating foods, coffee and strong tea. In particular, patients with hyperthyroidism have a high basal metabolic rate and are prone to palpitations and arrhythmias. If they consume too much spicy and stimulating food or smoke and drink, the condition can be aggravated, which can lead to various dangerous situations such as hyperthyroid crisis at a later stage.
