How to treat sebaceous cysts on the scalp

Scalp sebaceous cysts, if the tumor is relatively small, less than 1 cm or less, and there are no obvious signs of infection, can be treated conservatively without frequent hand pressure or squeezing action to reduce the chance of infection. If the sebaceous cyst becomes infected or forms a larger cyst, surgical excision can be considered in this case, and the large cyst of sebaceous cyst can be excised when there is no period of infection and one-stage suturing is performed. If sebaceous cysts of the scalp become infected and acute inflammation such as redness, swelling, heat and pain occurs, emergency sebaceous cyst excision can be considered. If the cyst remains after adequate drainage and healing, a complete excision of the cyst in a second operation can be performed at an optional date, followed by one-stage suturing. Patients with sebaceous cysts on the scalp are best advised to go to a regular hospital and select an appropriate treatment plan through detailed examination by a doctor.
