Whether a pancreatic pseudocyst will be absorbed naturally depends on the size. For pancreatic pseudocysts, it is possible that they will be completely absorbed under 5 cm; for pancreatic pseudocysts over 5 cm, it is theoretically difficult to absorb them. For pancreatic pseudocysts under 5 cm, if they are not absorbed or cannot be absorbed in a short period of time, and they are connected to the main pancreatic duct, a pancreatic duct stent can be placed by ERCP, and it is possible that the cyst will disappear in a short period of time. Because the cyst is connected to the main pancreatic duct, the pancreatic duct stent will be placed in the main pancreatic duct and the cyst fluid will be drained into the gastrointestinal tract through the pancreatic duct stent. If there are no symptoms, you can leave it untreated and just observe it regularly. A large pancreatic cyst may have many symptoms, such as obstructive jaundice caused by compression of the bile duct or a large cyst that occupies half of the abdominal cavity, causing eating and breathing problems for the patient. Even compression of the thoracic cavity may cause difficulty in breathing, which should be treated promptly. Surgical treatment can be done to anastomose the cyst with the stomach or jejunum; endoscopic treatment can be done to puncture the gastric cyst and place a stent; ultrasound treatment can be done to release the cystic fluid through body puncture and remove the necrotic tissue inside the cyst to make the cyst heal and absorb faster.
