Can cataracts be cured in advanced stages?

Cataracts can be cured with early and late surgery. Cataracts are the number one blindness-causing eye disease worldwide, but they are curable and reversible. If there are no other diseases in the eye, they are usually curable. Regardless of age, vision can usually be restored to normal by surgical means. On the contrary, if it reaches an advanced stage and causes glaucoma because of overripening, cataract surgery should also be considered as early as possible. By doing cataract or dealing with glaucoma, the patient’s vision will be restored and the intraocular pressure will drop, which can basically lead to a cure. However, it is recommended that cataracts should not be delayed for too long. Although it is still entirely possible to recover vision after surgery in the late stage, the effect from the surgical process to the cure is definitely not as good as in the middle stage. Patients who have cataracts should be treated as early as possible, and if there are indications for surgery, they should be operated as soon as possible, and not wait until complications arise in the late stage.
