What are the symptoms of stomach bleeding?

Vomiting of blood is a characteristic manifestation of gastric haemorrhage. Vomiting of blood is often present in cases of heavy bleeding, but may be absent in cases of lesser bleeding. Another typical symptom of gastric bleeding is black stools, which are black, tarry, sticky and shiny. If the bleeding is heavy, the blood passes quickly through the intestines and the stools may be dark red or bright red. In addition to the above manifestations, patients with gastric bleeding may also present with haemorrhagic anaemia, fever, dizziness, panic, weakness, fainting on sudden rising, and in severe cases, shock.
