There are many causes of gastric bleeding, with common causes being gastric ulcers, ruptured oesophagogastric fundic varices, acute erosive haemorrhagic gastritis and gastric cancer. In addition, the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as aspirin or other anti-platelet aggregating drugs can also cause stomach bleeding. Heavy alcohol consumption and poor diet can increase the risk of gastric bleeding.
