Problems with cataracts after FOV surgery

There are actually very few studies on postoperative cataracts in China, but there are some abroad, and the results of different studies vary greatly, mainly for post-vitrectomy cataracts. The mechanism is not fully elucidated, and it is speculated that: 1. the effect of intraoperative silicone oil filling, especially gas filling .

2, the effect of primary eye disease, such as retinal detachment, vitreous hemorrhage, etc. .

3, the influence of postoperative reactions and inflammation, such as postoperative uveitis (this is positively correlated with the time of surgery and surgical trauma).

4.Intraoperative photodamage and mechanical damage (light is a clear factor for cataract occurrence).

5, postoperative vitreous fluid oxidative damage.

6, age and myopia, the older the age the higher the incidence; cataracts in highly myopic patients would have been early, with or without surgery.

27g minimally invasive fov and conventional biosurgery are totally two concepts, so it is unscientific for some users to say that 90% cataract within ten years after surgery (conventional 20g biosurgery is possible); it is nonsense to say that macular degeneration and glaucoma follow immediately after cataract, and there is not a single literature in the world that has such a mention.

The complications of 27g minimally invasive fov can be said to be minimal, lower than the well-known cataract ultrasound emulsification surgery, the reason lies in the minimally invasive and high efficiency, compared with the traditional bosch one or two hours, less than ten minutes of surgery almost no postoperative inflammatory reaction. In addition, 27fov has a very short intraoperative light time, preserves the vitreous humor after the lens to avoid oxidative damage, and the 0.4mm surgical incision disappears in a week.

Minimally invasive surgery and adherence to a quick and gentle technique have resulted in a 0% incidence of cataract in the six years since we performed fov. However, as I said in the beginning, the mechanism of cataractogenesis is not fully elucidated,27 and it will take time to answer the question of whether fov necessarily accelerates cataracts! Cataracts are not terrible either, their surgical treatment is very effective, and their drug treatment is currently making significant breakthroughs.
