Are angina and palpitations the same thing?

Angina pectoris and palpitation are not the same thing, and the difference between the two mainly includes clinical symptoms, etiology, examination methods and treatment measures.
1. Clinical symptoms: Palpitation mainly refers to the feeling of panic and fear, while angina pectoris is chest tightness and heart pain in the precordial area.
2. Etiology: Palpitation may be a problem of arrhythmia or rapid heart rate caused by emotional tension and excitement, while angina pectoris is myocardial ischemia and hypoxia caused by atherosclerosis of coronary arteries and narrowing of lumen of the heart.
3. Examination: palpitations electrocardiogram or dynamic electrocardiogram, there may be accelerated heart rate, there may be premature beats and other arrhythmias. In angina pectoris, there are signs of myocardial ischemia such as depression of st-segment, T-wave flattening and inversion.
4. Therapeutic aspect: Palpitation is mainly adjusted by resting and adjusting the mood, and beta-blockers can be used to slow down the heart rate if necessary. Angina pectoris can be treated with medication, including antiplatelet drug aspirin, statin drug atorvastatin, and nitrate drugs, beta-blocker therapy, or interventional therapy with implanted stents.
Patients with angina or palpitations need to pay attention, and it is recommended to consult a doctor in time to identify the cause of the disease and systematic treatment under the guidance of the doctor.
