Cleft lip is a congenital malformation commonly known as “hare lip”. It is one of the most common congenital deformities. The causes of secondary cleft lip deformity are mainly due to the young age of the child, difficulty in identifying the lip anatomy, serious deformity, unreasonable surgical design, inexperienced operator, wrong operation, postoperative infection, excessive wound tension, and secondary deformity caused by the growth of the lip and maxilla as the patient ages, and the original scar cannot grow with it. A cleft lip that needs to be repaired for the above reasons is called a secondary cleft lip. Secondary cleft lip is usually accompanied by a nasal deformity, which requires simultaneous surgical correction. Secondary cleft lip is classified according to its congenital deformity and after surgical treatment, it usually presents with unilateral or bilateral upper lip widening or poorly aligned scarring. The lip red edge is uneven, the upper lip skin is embedded with lip red tissue, the lip red part is notched, the central lip is concave, the lip lacks aesthetic curvature, the upper lip is too tight, concave, the human middle and human middle crest is absent, etc. The treatment principle is to operate again to restore the normal shape of the upper lip, and try to make the upper lip arch lip red edge curvature natural, dynamic and coordinated, and the upper lip bead full. After surgery, avoid infection and wound splitting, so that the scar is hidden and slim. This requires prevention of postoperative wound infection and excessive local tension. First of all, you should have a clean mouth before surgery, brush your teeth often, and rinse your mouth with light salt water before going to bed. Eat 2-3 days after surgery, avoid open mouth activities, and take antibacterial agent for one week after surgery to prevent infection. The stitches should be removed seven days after surgery. If there is redness and bulging of the upper lip scar treat the scar as early as possible. Local scar may be more obvious 3-6 months after surgery.
