What are the diagnostic criteria for obesity?

For simple obesity, the main measure of body mass index (BMI) is currently used to make a judgement on the degree of obesity in the body, with BMI = weight (kg) / [height (m)] squared.
A BMI in the range of 18.5 to 23.9 is normal, when the BMI is in the range of 24.0 to 27.9 it is overweight, when the BMI is ≥ 28.0 it is considered obese, and when the BMI is ≥ 32.0 it is very obese.
