Dietary contraindications for tonsillitis

Tonsillitis is a common disease and patients are advised to avoid foods with high irritation and fat content in their daily life. Spicy and stimulating foods, such as onions, chili peppers, garlic cloves and ginger, as well as smoked (bacon), fire-roasted and fried foods should be appropriately limited to avoid adverse effects on the condition. Fatty meat, black sesame and other foods with high fat content should also be limited, because too much greasy food tends to aggravate the inflammatory irritation of the throat.
It is important to note that each patient’s condition is different and diet is only one part of the treatment of the disease. Your doctor will develop an appropriate treatment plan and give you reasonable dietary advice based on your specific situation.
