Currently, there is only one domestic HFMD vaccine, the full name of which is Enterovirus 71 Inactivated Vaccine, or EV71 HFMD vaccine, which is used to prevent HFMD and other related diseases caused by Enterovirus 71 infection, but does not prevent HFMD caused by other enteroviruses, such as Coxsackie A16 virus. Most clinical cases of HFMD are caused by coxsackieviruses and other enteroviruses, so for most HFMD, the EV71 HFMD vaccine has no preventive effect, but because HFMD caused by EV71 infection can lead to a proportion of heavy cases, which can cause serious complications and even death, it is generally recommended to try to get the EV71 HFMD vaccine. The EV71 HFMD vaccine is suitable for children aged 6 months to 5 years, but strict precautions need to be followed when administering the vaccine, including: 1. Before vaccination: You should truthfully inform your doctor of your health status, and if you have symptoms such as cold or fever, you should wait for a catch-up vaccination after recovering your health. If you are a human immunoglobulin injector, you need to wait 1-3 months before receiving this vaccine according to the applied immunoglobulin dose, so as not to affect the immunization effect; 2. After vaccination: The recipient should stay in the hospital for at least 30 minutes for observation after the injection. Adverse reactions can occur after vaccination. In mild cases, mild redness, swelling, heat and pain will occur at the vaccination site, but the duration will not exceed 3 days and can be relieved by itself; in severe cases, severe fever, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting will occur, requiring prompt medical treatment. Preventive measures for HFMD: 1. Strengthen education on HFMD and vaccination; 2. Develop good hygiene habits, wash hands before meals, after defecation, and after touching unclean objects; 3. Pay attention to dietary hygiene, wash dishes and household items adequately, and disinfect if possible; 4. Reduce children’s access to public places during the high virus season (summer); 5. promptly isolate and prevent cross-infection.
