How much does it cost to have a laser for kidney stones

There are two types of treatment for kidney stones using laser. 1. Invasive treatment, called percutaneous nephrolithoscopic Holmium laser lithotripsy, costs 2,600 yuan for the procedure and requires the use of general anesthesia, which costs about 2,000 yuan and a hospital stay of about 10-14 days. A channel needs to be opened in the lumbar region, about 1cm in diameter, through which the nephroscope enters the kidney and is discharged after the laser has broken up the stone. 2. Holmium laser lithotripsy with a soft ureteroscope, which does not require any channel to be opened in the body, costs 3000 RMB and requires general anesthesia, which costs about 2000 RMB. After the soft ureteroscope enters the bladder from the urethra and then the kidney through the ureter, the stone is found and the laser is used to break the stone completely. Since there is no wound on the body surface, the recovery is quick and the hospitalization period is about 7-8 days. Larger stones are removed from the urethra by a flexible ureteroscope, but stones that have already been powdered are removed by the patient after the procedure by drinking more water and exercising more.
