I often have some parents to ask me: children with scoliosis, what posture need to pay attention to in general? First, the angle of sitting posture. Usually need to pay attention to let the child chest up, this requirement is beneficial to scoliosis or to the child’s posture. Second, the posture of sleeping. Maintaining a fixed sleeping posture is actually difficult to do. When people sleep, they will unconsciously flip left and right, and if they are not used to it, it is difficult to fix the sleeping position. For children with scoliosis, there is no special strict sleeping position. But from a physiological point of view, because the human spine is lying flat when the spinal pressure is the smallest, the supine position will be less pressure. On the other hand, sleeping in the wrong position does not lead to scoliosis, scoliosis can be divided into congenital scoliosis, idiopathic scoliosis, degenerative scoliosis and so on according to the etiology. The cause of scoliosis is diverse, the specific pathogenesis is not completely clear, its occurrence is related to the patient’s age, neuromuscular function, bone development, trauma and genetic factors, it is generally believed to be caused by a combination of systemic or local factors, there is no absolute relationship with sleeping posture.
