According to the different degrees of the disease and their own conditions, the clinical manifestations of autism in two-year-old children vary from individual to individual, and the general manifestations include sensory abnormalities, ignorance of the surrounding environment, language disorders, self-injury and so on. 1. Sensory abnormalities: children with autism may have sensory abnormalities, may be more sensitive to some sounds, flashing lights, etc., and appear frightened, squinting and other behaviors. Some children may have poor development of vestibular and proprioceptive senses, and may not be able to perform actions that children of the same age can perform, such as jumping on both feet. 2. Ignorance of surroundings: A two-year-old child may not interact with children to play games, does not see eye-to-eye with others, lives in his own world, and ignores the presence of others. When an adult calls the child’s name, the child is not sensitive to the call. Also, the child cannot understand simple instructions. 3. Language disorders: While a two-week-old child can speak in short, coherent sentences, a child with autism may have a language development disorder in which he or she can only speak single words and sometimes makes gibberish sounds that are unintelligible to onlookers. 4. Self-injury: Children with autism at the age of two may have self-injurious behaviors such as banging their heads and biting their nails frequently. Parents are advised to seek prompt medical attention if their child develops any of the above symptoms, and to follow the doctor’s instructions for intervention and training, in order to improve the child’s ability to take care of him/herself in the future and to improve his/her quality of life.
