Is it painful to change the medication for sebaceous cyst drainage?

Sebaceous cysts are common benign tumors of superficial tissues in clinical practice. Once an infection occurs, it is often accompanied by the formation of a local abscess, which requires abscess incision and drainage. Local drug changes are often combined with painful symptoms of varying degrees, especially when the patient is changing the drug for the first time. Since the inflammatory tissue in the wound is not completely absorbed, the drainage gauze adheres closely to the inflammatory tissue, and when the gauze is forcibly torn, there is a small amount of bleeding and severe pain. Patients need to wet the gauze sufficiently with saline and remove it slowly so as to reduce the patient’s local pain. At a later stage, as the inflammatory tissue in the wound is gradually absorbed, accompanied by the proliferation of new granulation, the local pain of the wound can be significantly reduced when the dressing is changed again.
