What is Yashida

Yashida, also known as perindopril tablets, is an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor. It is mainly used clinically for hypertension, heart failure, coronary artery disease, ischemic cardiomyopathy, dilated cardiomyopathy, and early diabetic nephropathy. It can not only lower blood pressure, but also prevent ventricular remodeling and can reduce leakage of urinary protein. The main side effect is an irritating dry cough, which disappears after stopping the drug. Other rare side effects include postural hypotension, rash, gastritis, and abnormal sensation. Rarely, there is angioneurotic edema leading to laryngeal edema. It is contraindicated in patients with combined renal artery stenosis, elevated blood creatinine, pregnant and lactating women. This drug should also not be used in patients with blood creatinine greater than 265 μmol/L, as it may exacerbate abnormalities in renal function and lead to the development of hyperkalemia.
