Is it suitable for hernia in summer?

As summer approaches, the weather becomes hot and humid, and the heat wave comes in waves, making people reluctant to go out. Recently, we have received many calls from patients asking whether the hot weather in summer makes it unsuitable for hernia surgery. Today I’ll give you an analysis! Hernia surgery is elective surgery, which means that except for incarcerated hernia, you can choose your own time to schedule the surgery. Generally speaking, people think that the summer heat, sweating and poor rest make it unsuitable for surgery. First of all, the hospital conditions are greatly improved and the wards are air-conditioned with constant temperature, so there is no problem of fear of heat for inpatient surgery. Secondly, the surgeries we are currently performing are all performed with intradermal sutures, no need to remove stitches without changing medication, and you can be discharged 1 day after surgery and take a shower in 3-5 days. If you take laparoscopic surgery, it will be even more problem-free because the poke is very small and basically has no effect. Thirdly, summer is the off-season of hospital work, there are less patients in the hospital, the inpatient bed is not tight, and you can stay as you arrive. With fewer patients and less pressure on the surgeon, the surgery is relatively easier and more comfortable, and the quality of surgery can be guaranteed. To sum up, I think summer is not a hindrance to hernia surgery, but a suitable time to do it.
