A renal cyst with internal compartments is a larger cyst separated by fibrous tissue into several smaller cysts, which in common parlance is a cyst over cyst manifesting as a phenomenon of multiple cysts. This condition is more common in clinical practice and is similar to the hive of a honeybee, with different compartments forming a large hive. The reason may be that there are multiple renal tubules with lesions, while causing multiple renal units to gradually accumulate fluid and expand, eventually forming larger cysts. Patients are recommended to have further CT and enhanced CT examinations to further rule out the possibility of cystic kidney cancer. If the enhanced CT examination does not reveal the phenomenon of vascular enhancement in the renal cyst and intracapsular interval, clinical observation or treatment such as renal cyst decompression or ultrasound cyst aspiration is recommended. However, if the enhanced CT indicates that there is intensification of the intracapsular compartment or the compartment is thicker, malignant transformation is considered, further puncture biopsy or inpatient surgery is recommended to completely remove the suspected cancerous cyst.
