Pregnancy and acute appendicitis

It is not uncommon for pregnant women to develop acute appendicitis: because the enlarged uterus compresses the appendix during pregnancy causing ischemic changes in the appendix, it is naturally prone to acute appendicitis. Acute appendicitis in pregnant women has several characteristics: it is frequent in late pregnancy, the perforation is not easily confined, and the signs are less obvious. Moreover, the white blood cells of pregnant women are often higher than normal, thus affecting the determination of the severity of the patient’s appendicitis and making treatment more difficult. For acute appendicitis, it is generally noted that: 1, early and late pregnancy, surgery is the mainstay. 2, mid-term pregnancy, conservative-based. 3, drug use should not affect the development of the fetus. 4.Be prepared for miscarriage and teratogenic ideology.
