Acute appendicitis is the most common acute abdominal disease in general surgery. Clinically, we often encounter some female patients with acute lower abdominal pain who think they have appendicitis and do not see any significant improvement after taking anti-inflammatory drugs in some health service centers or clinics, and then go to the hospital for gynecological diseases after examination, and some of them are quite dangerous, and very few of them are life-threatening. Due to the anatomical and physiological characteristics of women, their lower abdominal pain has its own special characteristics. In addition to abdominal pain caused by acute appendicitis, there are many gynecological diseases that can cause abdominal pain similar to acute appendicitis, and female patients must pay attention to them. This is also related to the question of which department number you go to the hospital for consultation. Because some gynecological diseases are very urgent (e.g. ectopic pregnancy), there is no room for delay. So what are the common gynecological diseases that can be easily confused with acute appendicitis? 1, ectopic pregnancy (i.e. ectopic pregnancy): history of menopause, vaginal bleeding and haemorrhage as the main manifestation, rapid heartbeat, pulse rate and blood pressure drop; severe abdominal pain. The above symptoms should be ruled out by gynecology first. A positive pregnancy test; ultrasound and CT can see a large amount of blood in the pelvis and make a clear diagnosis. 2, Ovarian corpus luteum rupture: it occurs in the middle of menstruation and the bleeding is less than that of ectopic pregnancy. 3, Ovarian cyst torsion: severe abdominal pain; color ultrasound and CT can clearly diagnose. 4, Acute tubal infection: history of unclean sexual life, abdominal pain and abdominal pressure pain on both sides in general. Therefore, for acute abdominal pain in female patients, in addition to considering appendicitis, attention must be paid to exclude acute abdominal diseases caused by gynecological diseases to avoid delaying diagnosis and treatment. In particular, ectopic pregnancy should be given great attention because of the large amount of bleeding, which can lead to hemorrhagic shock or even death.
