Lung cancer metastases in the blood system, such as liver, adrenal, brain and bone metastases, are not suitable for surgery once they appear. This is because in this case, the tumor cells have expanded from a localized area on one lung to distant parts of the body, to other organs, or even to other more tissues, and the effect of such surgery is very poor. Generally, surgery is not recommended unless there are special circumstances, such as the tumor has invaded the larger blood vessels on the lung and can be removed, and the patient is not able to treat the bleeding through internal medicine, in which case it is a passive procedure and can only be done to solve the problem of acute bleeding. Therefore, except for very rare cases, generally when distant metastases appear, thoracic surgery is not advocated to go back to surgery for patients with lung cancer. Moreover, there are many treatment methods, such as radiotherapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, and there are many options, and they are not limited to surgery only.
