Pre-conception check-ups can be done at the obstetrics and gynecology department or the fertility clinic of a hospital. Pre-conception check-ups are important examinations before pregnancy preparation, mainly for couples to go to the hospital for health-related examinations to facilitate the birth of a healthy baby and to prevent the fetus from having genetic diseases and congenital developmental defects after birth. The checkups include physical examinations such as height, blood pressure, weight, heart rate and so on. Liver function, kidney function, euglycemia, blood glucose and lipids of both spouses should be checked, as well as screening for thalassemia and infectious diseases such as AIDS and syphilis. Women also need to have routine white belt and gynecological examination to determine whether they have gynecological inflammation and genital abnormalities. In men, routine semen examination and morphological analysis of sperm are also required.
