Bleeding from the head after a blow to the head is usually the result of extensive fractures of the base of the skull. This is usually a combination of fractures of the anterior, middle and posterior cranial fossae. However, bleeding from a simple fracture is not life-threatening. Usually there is no injury to the tissues inside the brain except bleeding, and in this case the person is conscious, and can usually be saved if timely treatment is given to stop the bleeding and prevent infection inside the skull. However, if the impact is more serious, in addition to extensive skull base fracture, but also combined with extensive cerebral contusion, or even a large number of brain hemorrhage, brain stem contusion, ultimately leading to the formation of brain hernia, central respiratory depression, this situation is more difficult to save.
